NearChat is a chat demo application that matches a user with a nearby-style profile and sends chat prompts to Gemini through a Cloudflare Worker proxy.
What data we process
- Chat content: messages you type in the app are sent to our backend proxy and to Gemini so the app can generate replies.
- Technical request data: infrastructure providers such as Cloudflare and Google may process IP address, device/network metadata, and request logs for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
- No precise location permission: the current app does not request precise device location. Nearby matching is simulated for product testing.
How we use data
- To generate and return chat responses inside the app.
- To operate, secure, and monitor the service.
- To debug errors and improve product quality.
Data sharing
We share data only with service providers needed to run the app experience:
- Cloudflare for proxying and infrastructure delivery.
- Google Gemini API for AI response generation.
Data retention
We aim to keep data only as long as needed for service operation, debugging, and abuse prevention. Logs retained by infrastructure providers may follow their own retention settings.
Your choices
You can stop using the app at any time. Because the app currently does not provide account-based storage controls, deleting the app only removes data stored locally on your device.
Deletion requests
If you want to request deletion of data associated with your support inquiry or recent service activity, email petaflo.com@gmail.com. We will review feasible deletion requests in line with our operational, security, and legal obligations.
Children
NearChat is not directed to children and is intended for adults 18+.
